The Keeppower RCR123A 800 mAh (16340) rechargeable battery with protection (protected) is based on lithium-ion technology. Li-ion technology offers one of the best energy-to-weight ratios for a cell. Battery has no memory effect and minimal self-discharge. Compared to standard Fenix RCR123A accumulators, this cell has about 15% higher capacity while maintaining the same dimensions, so the lighting time with this accumulator is also about 15% longer. We verified the capacity with our own measurement.

The protection of the battery can be divided into two areas. The first area contains added electronic circuits on the negative pole that prevent overcharging of the cell (a situation where classic Li-ion batteries pose an explosion risk), or conversely, over-discharging (the accumulator would then not be rechargeable). Furthermore, these circuits protect the accumulator against short circuits or high current draw, which could damage the accumulator. If the battery's electronics evaluate that limit values have been reached, it disconnects the cell. The second area includes protection against overheating (PTC thermal protection) and a special anti-explosion valve.

Its size corresponds to a CR123A disposable lithium battery, which is why it is often used in flashlights as a rechargeable alternative to these disposable cells. First, check if your device supports this cell, as it has a higher nominal voltage compared to a disposable battery. These batteries can be used, for example, in Fenix E15 XP-G2, E16, E18R, PD25R, LD15R, Fenix RC09, HM50R, HM51R, CL09, PD30, TK10, TK12, TA20, TA30 flashlights.
