It should be remembered that a LiPol battery must not be discharged below 3 V per cell and must not be overcharged above 4.2 V per cell. Another advantage of LiPol batteries is a low self-discharge rate. An unused battery loses only 3% to 5% of its energy. The battery must be checked, because during long-term storage of the battery, it may discharge below the minimum value (3V per cell), leading to irreversible chemical reactions that can cause deterioration of the battery's properties, including permanent damage and, in extreme cases, self-ignition. An unused LiPol battery should be charged to approximately 70%.

With proper use of LiPol battery packs, their lifespan should be approximately 500 to 700 cycles. The operating temperature of LiPol battery packs is very important. Unlike conventional batteries, LiPol cells can cope relatively well even with low temperatures. Nevertheless, they should be charged at room temperature. To keep LiPol batteries in good condition, you should balance them during charging using the service plug, which most LiPol batteries are equipped with (a good LiPol charger has a built-in balancer).
