How to choose airsoft BBS?

Just as choosing the right airsoft gun is important, a careful choice of ammunition – i.e., airsoft balls– should not be underestimated. In the last article, we looked at how to choose the right airsoft weapon. Today, we will focus on different types of ammunition.

The bigger the ball, the more it hurts?

Although it may seem that the weight and size of the ball are the most important parameters when choosing ammunition, this may not always be the case. As they say – horses for courses and everyone has different requirements for their airsoft ammunition.

The size of airsoft ammunition is usually between 6-8 mm, so it is a similar size of ammunition to that of ordinary guns.

The weight of the ball also plays a crucial role. This ranges from 0.12-0.90 g, so you have to adapt the choice to both the size of the weapon and its caliber, as well as the threshold of pain. The statement that a bigger ball causes more pain must also take into account that the material used also plays a role here. So, keep in mind the protective equipment you use for airsoft when choosing.

Consider the material as well

Another important parameter is the choice of material. In our e-shop, you will find plastic and metal balls, as well as degradable balls, which are more environmentally friendly. This will be appreciated not only by environmentally conscious shooters, but also by the owners of land where the airsoft event being is held. At the same time, you have the option to choose illuminating ammunition, which must be combined with an illuminating silencer, magazine, or chamber, but on the other hand, they are invaluable during gunfights at dusk or in the dark.

Try a test pack for a trial run

If you’re not sure which ammunition is right for you, you can try a test pack. Keep in mind that you have to adapt the balls to the size of the gun and its caliber, the other options are up to you. Once you’ve chosen your ammunition, don’t forget your protective gear so you can enjoy shooting to the fullest.
